Fitness Tips During The Corona Virus Outbreak

Exercising During the Corona Virus

With the Corona Virus running rampant through most of the world the safest thing to do right now is stay home. But how are you supposed to stay fit if you can’t go for your daily run or head to your local gym for a weight session or yoga class? Being cooped up makes it even more important to exercise so that you don’t lose your mind while you’re in quarantine. Exercising also helps keep your immune system up.

Thankfully there are a bunch of exercises that can be done in the safety of your home. First off you should think about the kind of exercise you usually enjoy doing. If you like lifting weights at the gym then it’s easy to get the same kind of exercising in at home.

All you need is your own body.

Bodyweight exercises may not isolate individual muscles as much as fancy machines at the gym but they’re effective and for good reason. When you do sit-ups, push-ups, squats and lunges you’re using your whole body which increases your calorie burn and helps stabilize your core.

The main thing with body-weight workouts is to pay attention to how your body feels.

If you’re not feeling the burn, you might need a few more reps but you may surprise yourself and find that your push-ups max you out faster than your arm curls ever did!

If you enjoy a nice long run you’re not going to be able to completely duplicate this workout at home unless you have a treadmill. However, running is cardio and it’s easy to complete a heart-pumping cardio routine from the comfort of your home.

You can jog in place, jump with an imaginary skipping rope, jog up some stairs and do jumping jacks for starters. Everyone’s favorite exercise, the burpee is a fantastic cardio workout. You can also dance to music with great beats or if you are looking for a little more of a structured workout, there are plenty that can be found online for free.

Look for cardio workouts such as kickboxing or HITT workouts if you’re looking to try a cardio workout that shakes things up a bit.

Yoga can be done anywhere. That’s one of the beauties of this exercise. All you need is a little bit of room and some peace and quiet. If you’ve been attending yoga classes for a while now you can easily take this routine home as your yoga routine is probably ingrained in your brain. If you still need a little guidance there are plenty of online yoga videos that help guide you through a routine.

Don’t let the quarantine imposed on you by the Corona Virus prevent you from exercising. You might surprise yourself and find that you have a love of kickboxing! Take this time to explore exercises you never would have thought to try and have fun exercising at home.
