People often do not realize that chewing gum, especially the energy gums, has numerous benefits as it boosts one’s body and brain. Energy gums are flavored gums that are rich in energy. These can improve consumer’s mental alertness, reaction time, concentration, and mental & cognitive performance. It is manufactured by softening gum bases followed by mixing it with other ingredients such as taurine, B-vitamins, caffeine, and more.

These are specially designed to help people gain energy and focus, without the side effects of sugar and caffeine. These are formulated with natural caffeine, B-vitamins, and L-theanine.
They provide just the right amount of clean & balanced energy which helps to improve focus, reduce stress and brighten up the mood. In addition, the company is launching Calm & Clarity mints in two flavors i.e. Honey Lemon and Ginger Chai flavors. Formulation of Calm & Clarity mints contain GABA, vitamin D3 and L-theanine. These help to reduce feelings of anxiety and stress.
The company brings clean, sugar-free, gluten-free, and vegan gums and mints to consumers.
At the same time, Navson, a UK mineral water firm, has developed a low price point energy gum named raw energy gum. It tastes like an energy drink. It contains taurine & B vitamins and is sugar free & caffeine free. It does not contain caffeine because there are a lot of health effects of caffeine on kids.
Food and Drug Administration has investigated that too much caffeine can cause anxiety, restlessness, irritability, and insomnia among kids, which is why, in 2013, a company named Wrigley launched caffeine gums with the caffeine equivalent to half a cup of coffee in each piece of gum but soon had to pull the product.
According to a report published by Allied Market Research, the global energy gum market size is projected to reach $125.24 million with a considerable CAGR from 2017 to 2023. North America is currently holding the highest market share, owing to high participation rate of American population in number of fitness activities across US, Mexico, and Canada.
In addition, one of the largest active military bases in the world is present in this region, which in turn, is boosting the demand of energy in North America even more.
Furthermore, people across every regions have started becoming more health concisions, which is sequentially driving the demand of gyms and fitness centers everywhere.
Thus, rise in number of health and fitness centers along with surge in health and fitness supplement products are augmenting the growth of the market in more than one way.
However, during the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, the gum manufacturing hubs were temporarily shut down due to prolonged lockdown. Also, the gyms and fitness centers were closed, especially in the initial period, due to which, the consumption of energy gums declined to a huge extent, thus hampered the growth of the energy gum market.
Nevertheless, the widespread presence of distribution channel of energy gums such as supermarkets, stores, online channels etc. has driven the growth of the market.
Rapid urbanization, economic growth, and rise in population in emerging countries like China and India have witnessed significant adoption of energy gums. With this drift on board, the global energy gum market is anticipated to assemble greater prospects and exponential growth in the upcoming years.
