We are in the 21st century and we lead a fast-paced life. Amidst the busy lifestyle, a few activities help us to have some quality time with ourselves and personal care & cosmetics are a few of these activities. However, using personal care items with unhealthy ingredients exposes the skin and hair to unwanted skin conditions such as blocked pores, dark circles, blemishes on the skin, and dull skin.

Many products in the market claim to improve the skin overnight.

Most of the time, these products contain harsh chemicals that harm the skin. The best way improve skin health is to use natural skin care products that offer a slow but steady effect on the skin. Apart from natural ingredients, consumers seem to demand sustainability from the personal care product supply chain and manufacturing too. Furthermore, they seek transparency and friendly product ingredients. Thus, several personal care product manufacturers seem to make efforts to offer that.

As per the research report published by Allied Market Research, the Personal Care Ingredients Market is expected to reach $14.6 billion by 2027, manifesting a CAGR of 5.9% from 2020 to 2027.

Night Creams and Masks:

When you work throughout the day, not just your body but your skin gets tired too and it must be given proper attention.

What time is better than sleeping time to pamper your skin? People have understood its importance and so have night creams manufacturers. Bio Wheat Germ Youthful Nourishing Night Cream by Biotique is a perfect example of this. It helps bring back the glow to your skin without causing side-effects. The cream is made up of sunflower, wheat germ, and almond oils, along with lots of vitamins.

Healthy Skincare:

There is no one-size-fits-all skincare routine; however, there are some ingredients that must be in your skincare product.

We are talking about peptides. Peptides help reduce wrinkles and work wonders on dry skin. A news product is recently launched in the market and it is getting all the deserved attention from the customers. This peptide-rich cream is Evolve Organic Beauty’s Multi-Peptide 360 Moisture Cream. The cream includes essential oils and natural fragrances along with peptides and hyaluronic.

Peptides essentially strengthen your skin’s elastin and collagen production. Brillare, India’s very own personal care brand has also introduced the first Zero Dilution Hair Oils in the Indian market. The oil is infused with ayurvedic and natural ingredients such as cedarwood, sesame, and castor.

Having said that the use of natural ingredients in personal care products for infants and toddlers such as Godrej Consumer Products Limited (GCPL) make effort to attract new parents with their goodness premium range products that is made with zero toxins for baby skin.

Innovations in personal care ingredients:

While sustainability is practiced by smart businesses across the sectors, the companies invest a huge amount of money in research and development.

An Italy-based, research team, Censi et al is all set to define antioxidant and phenol level activity of the extra material created during the preparation of craft beer. The team believes that the beer-waste extracts work wonders with human keratinocytes.

As the demand for craft beers is on the rise in the U.S. and European region, the research team focused on craft beers due to their non-filtered nature and hence are a good opportunity to discover personal care ingredients.

Many researchers have found both phenol compounds and antioxidant activities in customary beers, along with gallic and ferulic acid.

One research team used a beer that was made of simple water, malt, hop, and yeast brew. And the goal was to measure the by-products at each step of the beer-making process and in the waste product, with the help of different extraction methods. The research suggests the by-products can support the mechanisms of cellular nutrition and can be used for anti-aging ingredients.

Consumer cosmetics companies focus on promoting their dedication to the practice of sustainability to customers.

Chris Sayner, the Vice President of Customer Alliances and Corporate Sustainability at Croda International says that a large part of the work of sustainability is related to ingredient suppliers. Similar to the food sector, the cosmetics products sector comes with transparency.

As consumers turn toward environmentally and socially conscious products, companies have changed the questions that they used to ask and focus on the origins of ingredients.

To make sure the sources of ingredients are responsible and the supply chain is transparent, known cosmetics brands such as P&G, Johnson, and Johnson, L’Oréal and others have created a coalition with Business for Social Responsibility in the U.S. and Transitions in Europe to source ingredients including palm together.

When the supply and demand get in line with a trend, the market is bound to change drastically and this is exactly what is expected to happen in the global personal care ingredients market too.

Above mentioned trends and transformation in the global personal care ingredients market are expected to attract investment in the near future as the companies will have to raise money to cater to the changing consumer demands and come up with innovative and sustainable manufacturing processes and cosmetics.
