Details of Sports Nutrition:-

  • Whey Proteins:

Protein is the most important sports nutrition supplement in the world that can benefit to men and women of all ages, body types, and fitness levels. Regular intake of whey protein in the post workout period can contribute to building, repairing, and preserving the muscle mass. An average person, needs to consume nearly 0.8 g of protein per kg of body weight each day. However, pro-level sports persons may need to take even more.

There are three types of whey protein:

  • Whey Protein Concentrate: It involves less carbohydrates and less fat. Depending upon the concentration level, 30% protein is available in lower end whey protein concentrate, while 90% protein is available in higher end whey protein concentrate.
  • Whey Protein Isolate: These are usually available with at least 90% protein. These contains lesser carbohydrates and lesser fatwhey protein concentrate.
  • Whey Protein Hydrolysate: This type of protein already undergoes partial hydrolysis, a process required for the body to absorb protein, thereby is considered to be ‘predigested’ form of whey protein.

  • Creatine Monohydrate:

Creatine monohydrate, also known as ergogenic, is the best-selling workout supplement of all time. It is an essential ingredient for people involved in high intensity workout routines and sports like football, weightlifting, boxing etc. Consumption of minimum 2500 mg creatine as a part of a workout can actually benefit in increasing muscle power, muscle strength, muscle speed, and muscle mass. It can boost the formation of protein that produce muscle fibers, thereby can lead to new muscle growth.

  • Vegan Proteins:

Vegan Proteins are plant based proteins that are rich in vitamins and minerals. Soy protein is the most common plant protein for vegans. It contains 90% protein along with essential amino acids. Other vegan proteins available in the market include rice, pea, quinoa, and hemp. All of them are having their distinct texture, flavor, and price tag.

  • Omega 3:

Omega 3 fatty acids are of three types, i.e., eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA), docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), and alpha-linolenic acid (ALA).  These fatty acids are widely found in fish and fish oil supplements. They contain powerful health benefits for not only the body but also for the brain, thereby is an extremely important and popular sports nutrition product. It speeds up the muscle recovery process. It makes the muscle stronger and bigger. Additionally, it decreases heart rate and the oxygen rate that the body burns during exercise and sports activities.

  • BCAA:

BCAA or Leucine assists muscular health. It is a form of amino acids that possesses functions like modulating insulin sensitivity, stimulating muscle growth, cardiac effect on body fat etc. It gives energy to the body during intense physical exercise and helps to preserve lean muscle tissue in post workout, while also providing muscle glycogen and maintain nitrogen balance. If the level of leucine is less in a person’s body, his or her body will not be able to make use of the amount of protein consumed.

  • Multivitamin Tablets:-

Human body needs sufficient amount of vitamins and minerals to function effectively, especially sports persons involved in bodybuilding, weightlifting etc. Having a balanced meal is not always possible to follow. That is why, people use multivitamin tablets to provide the necessary amounts of nutrients to their body. Moreover, taking multivitamin tablets can also help in boosting the immune system.

Other than these above sports nutrition products, green tea, caffeine, glutamine and others are available in the market which are used by atheletes on a daily routine. So, with such a huge demand for all these varieties of sports nutrition products, the market of sports nutrition is definitely going to gather exponential growth in the near future.
