Boosting The Immune System
Boosting the immune system to fight corona virus
As of March 12, 2020, the World Health Organization declared the corona virus strain 19 as a pandemic. A pandemic is any type of disease that has severely impacted the population of many countries across the globe. As a result, many people have caught the corona virus and have fallen ill or died. Many people across the globe have retreated into self-isolation to prevent possible exposure to the corona virus.
This is in conjunction with many countries who have closed down many public places and have cancelled many public events. Although self-isolation is one way to reduce the possibility of getting sick, a better way to avoid getting sick is by boosting immunity.
In fact, by boosting an immune system, this can improve overall health as it can ward off getting sick by any disease. A good way to boost an immune system is by engaging in fitness and having a healthy diet. Here are some types of exercises and diets that can boost the immune system to fight off the corona virus.
Exercises
Any form of physical activity can improve the overall health of the human body. That being said, some physical exercises are better suited to boosting an immune system than others. The best exercises that boost immunity are cardiovascular exercises.
Cardiovascular exercises include all parts of the body. Likewise, the immune system involves the whole body as well. Since the coronavirus can infect a person in multiple ways, such as by coming into contact by touch, by consumption and so on, a strong immune system is required by the whole body to ward off any possible methods of contamination.
Such popular cardiovascular activities include running, cycling, aerobics, and any other forms of exercise that requires a full-body workout. A full-body workout gets the heart pumping stronger and faster, therefore sending more oxygen to the lungs, which can help clear the lungs of contaminants.
Also, a full-body workout gets the heart pumping more blood throughout the body which increases the number of antibodies a body has and therefore gives it a greater chance at fighting off bacteria before it can affect the body.
A full-body workout can be done indoors such as by using a treadmill, elliptical or moving to a guided workout session through a video.
Diet
To have a healthy body, a substantial amount of energy to supply the body is required. This is done by eating a healthy diet. Some healthy diet facts are universally accepted, such as limiting processed and junk foods that are loaded with sugar, trans fats, and other ingredients that negatively impact the body.
Therefore, a balanced diet consisting of the four major food groups should be eaten which include fruits and vegetables, whole grains, lean meat and low-fat dairy products. However, some foods have been known to boost immune systems. Spicy food, garlic, citrus fruits, yogurt, fermented foods, and certain other types of foods have all been shown to increase immune systems.
